Kris Calvin of Earthwood Homes of Oregon, a Sisters company, helped fellow timber framers build a wooden covered bridge in just five days in Guelph, Ontario, Canada at the eighth annual Timber Framers Guild of North America conference. The 144-foot bridge spans Guelph's Speed River and was fashioned from more than 700 hand- shaped timbers. The bridge uses a Town lattice truss, similar to the covered bridges across thousands of other rivers throughout the Northeast and Central United States and Eastern Canada, Quebec and Ontario. The Timber Framer's Guild is a membership organization representing timber framers throughout the United States and Canada. |
